First up is the new song by Lloyd feat. Andre 2000- Dedication To My Ex (I miss that). Besides all the (Pussy) comments the beat is tight and brings back that flavor and idea from Cee Lo’s ”Fuck You”. Lloyd is giving his props to the old school feel of James Brown in this video and this beat. Andre 2000’s verses are dead on like always and help bring the song back into the 2000s. You gotta love the first verse that pops in the song. ”That Pussy’s A Stranger”. This song is great for any part of the night at any party. Or any of your EX’s.
2nd up is two of my favorite rappers in the game. Nas and Common! The song is ”Ghetto Dreams”. This is song is giving me those RAP vibes through and through. Nothing fancy with the beat but lyrically its a work of art. And I gotta give it props from my turntabling side on the scratches and cuts in the song. If your need a training song for your playlist. This is it!
3rd is from Medina called ”Addiction”. This song is House DJs dream to remix. Its got Pop house all over it.
Medina has a simple vocal range and she doesn’t try to push it. Which I feel is a smart move with this song.
I know that with in the few weeks when this song comes out. I will be hearing a shit load of remixes of this song.
I bet there are a few already. So DJ’s/Producers get read to chop and mix this one up!
4th is from Coldplay with the song ”Paradise” off the up and coming release of the their new album in October. I have always been a huge fan of Coldplay even after the over hype of ”Viva La Vida”. The song has that Coldplay way of layering the strings and the vocals to a build. And if you listen close enough you will hear a touch of a Dub-Step break down through out the song. Keep this one and the album on your music radar.
See ya next week!
