Have you been to Sweden before? What do you think about our cold country?
– No, this is my first time here in Stockholm. And I love it and I want to experience the town here.
I love that Stockholm is such a cosy, nice little town with lot of old buildings, I thought it was gonna be more trendy and strict, but it’s so lovely.

What’s the different between Sydney and Stockholm?
– Sydney is much more relaxed and everyone is hanging by the beach, in Stockholm everyone is so updressed and they have very trendy clothes all the time. In Sydney they just were shorts and bikini. It’s more like a “holiday vibe” there than here.

Why did you move to LA?
– I wanted to be in a city were I could be inspired to work with music, because when I´m in Sydney I just want to go to the beach and relax. In LA people are very creative and work really hard.

How did you become interested in music in the first place?
– My dad is a jazz musician so he introduced me to music when I was a little girl, I sang with him on a concert when I was only six years old. So it’s always been in my blood and music is a natural part of my life.

I heard that you are an actress as well, how come you did’nt continue with that?
– Because my father was in the music business I wanted to go my own way and desided to be an actress instead, and I have had small rolls in tv shows here I Australia and worked with that until two years ago. Then I realized that music is the best way for me to express all my creativity. The theatrical side, the singer, and the writer.

How was it to have Cate Blanchett as a dramateacher?
– It was really nice, I was only 13 years old and we were a bunch of kids that were really lucky to have Cate as a teacher. But this was before she was really famous. But I remember that she was very inspiring and passionate, and made up these funny games for us to play. She was really helpful and gave me my first job as an actress.

Do you miss Australia when you’re travelling the world?
– Yes I do, very much. I miss my family, my friends, the lovely beaches and the nature.
I haven’t been home now since October, and that was only for one week. I really look forward to Chistmas, then I’m going home for a month and it’s summer there so I can hang by the beach all day long.

How does it feel to realese your own album? Did you write your own songs?
– Yes I wrote my own songs, some of them all by myself and some with help from cowriters.
I am very happy with the album now and I’m just letting it all go on and see how it goes. I wanted to make a happy album that makes people smile, but in the same time the album has a little deeper songs as well. Some people have told me that my music helped them get trough a bad day or a depression, and that makes me really happy to hear.

Where do you get inspiration to your music from? Who’s your favorite artists?
– My dad is a big inspiration of course and The Beatles has always been the number one popband for me, everyone loves The Beatles and they really make a good exampel for popmusic through all time.
I also like artists like Ella Fitzgerald, and Bjork has been a big inspiration for me. She is really creative in her music and her performings, and she has this “happy, clinging, strange sound” that I like.
People has said that I remind of Björk, Regina Spektor, Lily Allen and so on but I just want to be me, but you can´t help being categorized of other people.

If you have to name a favorite song from your new album, what would it be?
– I love the song called “Skipalong”, I think it has the most ”soul” to it on the hole album. It’s about homesickness and it really represents my hole journey right now, traveling around the world alone and making my dream come true.

When are you coming to Sweden next time?
– Pretty soon actually, in about three weeks I’m gonna perform at The Hultsfreds festival in july and I really look forward coming back to Sweden again.
